What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) is a form of medicine that originated in China over 4000 years ago. It is drug-free way to treat diseases and prevent future imbalances in the body. According to ancient theory, energy, known as “qi” runs along specific meridians in the body. When one of these meridians is blocked or diverted, disease can occur. To correct this, fine needles are inserted at specific points, and balance is restored.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized over 50 conditions that acupuncture treats, including (but not limited to) asthma, migraine, tennis elbow, irritable bowel syndrome and low back pain.
